This includes small parts, lubricants, springs, fuses, lights, etc. Call us today to schedule the repair to your slot machine. Thomas Baker - 805-501-6765. (Mileage beyond eighty miles roundtrip from our location is 50 cents per mile extra.)
In business in the County of Ventura, California since 2002!
These gravity-driven (and noisy) machines gave us our start in this wonderful business of coin operated games. And yes!, we do service mechanical and electronic pachinko games. We sell the 7/16 inch (11 mm) steel ball bearings and front cabinet glass. Contact us for details.
Machines We Are Experts In Repair Of
Caille, Mills, Jennings, Pace, Williams, Buckley, Watling, Aristocrat, Bally, and IGT slots are machines we have the service manuals with which to repair, refurbish and restore. We can offer advice to you over the phone, by email and by text to help diagnose any difficulties you may have. This is a detailed list of what we will cover (in a mechanical slot machine) during a house call to you. Here is a photo reference guide for your mechanical slot machine. (The photos are of a Mills High Top slot machine.)
Click on the above link. Fill it out. Send it as an attachment, fax, text or just simply call us. We will look up the repair manual and respond to your request, usually within a day or so. If you have photos of the interior and exterior, that would be quite helpful. Email or text them to us.
We do make house calls to repair your mechanical, electromechanical, video or IGT machines. Please call us at: 805-501-6765 for details. Or, email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be sure to describe the machine as much as you can: type of machine, manufacturer, age (or date of manufacture - usually printed on a metal tag on the lower outside right of the machine, below the handle), serial number, model number, denomination, number of coins played, and highest jackpot. Please let us know if you have the key. Is the machine jammed? Is the escalator not moving? Is it not paying off? Is the video screen showing an error message or is garbled? Is the electromechanical machine in a TILT condition? What error messages are showing on the IGT machine? It would be quite helpful to answer as many of these questions as possible.
Does your machine merely need a good cleaning and checkup? We do that too!
Please include photos of the interior and exterior of the machine needing repair. We will make an appointment to come to you to service your machine(s). Be sure to have the machine in an area with ample light and that there is room to work on it (a large table) to remove the mechanism from its casing.
We generally need two hours or so to complete a thorough inspection, cleaning or repair. In rare cases, we will take the machine back to our laboratory for very in-depth work. The house call includes small parts: springs, screws, bolts, nuts and lubricants. We only use original replacement parts. We will give you an itemized receipt detailing precisely what repairs were performed.
Click here to see brief descriptions of nearly every Bally electromechanical ever made. All Bally electromechanical slot machines are now legal to privately own in the State of California.
You can also purchase tokens, belly glass and replacement parts (lights, reels, hoppers and coin-mechs.) We have many different, original parts to help facilitate the repairs.
Do you need a well-made wooden stand for your machine? Stand-making is a specialty of ours. We use oak, oak veneer, walnut, mahogany, and other strong woods to construct a sturdy place to show off your machine. Your stand will be made with or without brass claw feet (your choice!)
Let us tailor-make a stand for your rec/game room. We NEVER use particle board or nails. Such materials are unreliable and wholly offensive to us. (Your stand will last for many years using joinery and other fasteners.) We will try to meet your needs.
We also sell hard-to-find slot machine glass pieces for use in wooden cabinets. Ask us to make a collage of glass using stunning colors (and your favorite casino or slot machine names) for your slot machine stand.
Have a question about a slot machine that you've purchased? Or, do you have one that has been in "the family for ages" and want to know more about it? Ask away. We pride ourselves on the research capabilities we possess. We wish to help you trace a machine's origins, its history, its use and its colorful past. We need the following: a serial number, model number, date of manufacture and from where it was purchased. (This only applies to machines that are 25 years and older, by the way!) Any high-resolution photos would be helpful as well. We cannot give any appraisals, sorry.
It may take us awhile. Please be patient.
Our machines are original, museum-quality, collectible antiques for the serious upscale collector. We very firmly stand behind any slot machine in our inventory.
For any yearly cleaning (highly recommended): 30 days.
For any machines taken to our labs for further repair: 30 days.
We are accessible by phone, email, and text. We will be there long after any warranty is expired. We want you to know we will treat your machine as if it is ours. That is our promise. (The warranty is not valid where a machine shows obvious signs of abuse or unauthorized repairs.)
The Legal Part
We will not sell any machine that is less than 25years old to any California resident. When you call us, be prepared to give us the model number, serial number and the date of manufacture (or the machine's age). If we are able to determine that it is less than 25 years old we will neither service it, nor will we offer advice on how to repair it. To do so would be against California State Law 330.7 P.C.
Private slot machine ownership is legal in most, but notall, of the United States.Click here for slot machine ownership in the US.Laws change. We are not responsible for any errors. The previous list is only a guide. Please research your state and local laws before buying any slot machine.
Although every effort has been made to assure the accuracy of the previous information, it does not have the force and effect of law, rule or regulation. Should any difference or error occur, the law will take precedence.
Reproduction Slot Machines
We often receive calls for "reproduction" machines. These are inferior to the original machines of the same model. They are less expensive, yes; but you "get what you pay for." We will NOT sell, repair or give advice on how to repair any machine that is a reproduction of any [mechanical] slot machine.
Our staff is friendly to all, knowledgeable about slot machines, and willing to answer your questions to the best of our ability.
We conduct low-key business with our clientsonly by personal and courteous, face-to-face contact. Your complete satisfaction is our goal. Here is a sample purchase agreement.
It has beenprepared for us by our attorneys to help protect you and your slot machine during (and long after!) the transaction you make with California Antique Slots.
What you will purchase from us is: functional; reliable; valuable; and beautiful. You have our word.
We are passionate about slot machines; we love what we do. And we want to share that enthusiasm with you. We will match your game/rec room with a wonderful antique!
We look forward to meeting you and appreciate your business. You will receive the personal touch! Thank you,

One More Thing
(We will NOT sell, rent or give away your contact information to any third party.)
(Museums, Casinos, Coin-Operated Arcades, and Others)
... are at your service. We are available to help you and are for hire; volunteer, paid or unpaid status. We are here to keep the machines in your establishment in working order. We possess excellent research, repair and people skills. How can we be of assistance to you? (Please call or text Tom Baker at: 805-501-6765. Or email him at: email@example.com.)
... is spoken here. It is also the way we do repairs for your precious slot machine. We don the hats of caretaker and artisan. With skilled hands we remove a jam, clear a blocked payout slide, replace broken springs and cotter pins, and gently degrease clogged operating forks for mechanical machines.
We test the hopper and wiper arms for the electromechanical machines. We check solenoids, relay leaf distances, stepper switches and microswitches.
For the more modern machines we will verify the software, the main processing unit and circuitry operations.
We check and verify voltages, replace fuses, bulbs, and relays.
Using manuals, we follow step-by-step procedures to reset error codes, make sound and reel tests and verify statistical menus for the more modern machines.
If a processor board needs a new 3.6 volt lithium battery, we will spot weld solder tabs to a new fully-charged battery and directly solder it carefully and cleanly onto the board.
For all machines powered by electricity: 120 volts AC, 50 volts DC, 6 volts DC and any other DC voltages: we will check for cold solder joints, continuity of harnesses, wiring, connectors, and many other components. We will explain our actions to you. If we reach an area of concern, you will be the first to know!
We treat this machine of yours as our machine during our house call to you. We will not leave your side until the machine performs nearly flawlessly. It must be done this way to satisfy our fanatical standards. (Some slot machines are simply not fixable or reparable. This must be understood by the owner/slot enthusiast. Mechanical, electromechanical or electronic slot machines have many different interrelated parts that fail occasionally. A house call narrows down the problem(s) that a machine experiences. We will try to find the problem(s). We will try to SOLVE the problem(s). We will explain the problem(s) thoroughly to you. In other words, we will do our best.)

We Restore Memories!
Your precious antique collectible is gathering dust. It sits unused on a table, in a corner. Perhaps it has been this way for many years. It is jammed or you have lost the key.
Don't let it remain this way. We will make a house call to lovingly restore your slot machine to a working, playing and paying coin-operated device. That's why you got it to begin with, right?
Call us to set up an appointment today! Tom Baker - 805-501-6765. A home visit lasts approximately two hours. We ask that you have the machine in an area with ample light, two old towels, the key(?) to the machine and room to work. Please be present to watch us while we work. We would be happy to explain the repairs to you, if you're interested. (If you can tolerate our conversation about severe weather, slot machines, acting, woodworking and family, then it will be a perfect fit.)
We enjoy puzzles! A slot machine without a key is just that; a puzzle. DON'T drill that lock, especially if it is an original. We possess woodworking and locksmithing skills and tools to create a delicate "finesse entry" into your antique slot machine. We will NOT drill unless it is absolutely necessary. After we have entered the machine, it is your option to replace the lock. When your machine is returned to you, you will never know we entered it to begin with! (Your machine will be picked up and brought back to our laboratory. We need at least two weeks to patiently enter your slot machine. There is an additional fee associated with this service.)
Please DO NOT:
Attempt repairs or restorations yourself.
Attempt to clean the mechanism.
Attempt to remove a jam.
Attempt to disassemble the slot machine.
Use different springs.
Unsolder connections or switches.
Use fuses rated a different amperage.
Attempt to change the payouts.
Attempt to change the odds.
Attempt to reprogram the software.
Change the program chips.
Touch the clock fan (a rotating mechanism on the base of the machine.)
Tighten screws. (Certain hardware pieces appear to be "loose". This is to allow metal-on-metal movement. Two examples: The hopper timeout reset switch is a long metal strip under the hopper in an electromechanical Bally. It must be loose to allow the machine to be reset after the hopper is checked and refilled. Another example are the wiper arms for each reel in a Bally. These must be smoothly operating to allow the reels to index.)
Use a silicone "dry" spray lubricant anywhere on the mechanism, electronics or casing.
Use a "water-displacement" lubricant type of spray.
Lubricate the hopper (for electromechanical and electronic machines.)
Lose the key.
Take the machine to us! (We will come to you. Sometimes we take the machine back to our shop for in-depth work. It happens, but it is rare.)
Donate Your Non-working Machine(s) to Us
We are always in search of parts from mechanical, electromechanical and electronic slot machines. Or, maybe you have a coin-operated device that simply does not work. We use the parts to help other owners fix their machines. If that machine is gathering dust and you wish to donate it, we would be happy to pick it up from you! Please call Tom Baker at 805-501-6765 (cell or text) to arrange for a date/time and location. Thank you for supporting us! (We pick up non-working machines only in the Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Kern counties.)

IGT Double Diamond (1990) - 25 cent - Closeup
This IGT Double Diamond "Nudge" machine is clean, both inside and out. The 3.6 volt lithium battery has been replaced on the processor board. It plays and pays 25 cent coins. The "nudge" activity occurs when one of the bars is within one position of the payline and points to the center payline. The stand and the service manual are included. (The four views, above and below, show this well-maintained IGT slot machine.)

Mills High Top (1946) - 5 cent
Jennings Wild Indian (1949) - 50 cent
Here is a Mills War Eagle mechanical slot machine. It has been thoroughly cleaned, refurbished and restored. The outside enamel decor is colorful and vibrant. It plays one 5-cent piece and pays on all combinations. There is a decorative jackpot that holds nickels, but does not pay them. At bar-bar-bar, the win is 20 coins with the remainder as a hand-pay. There are several serial numbers on the operating fork, casing and levers.
Mills War Eagle (1948) - 5 cent
Mills War Eagle (1948) - 5 cent
These slot machines have been cleaned, lubricated and inspected by us. They are up for trade. Any takers? (We do not negotiate between parties, we only list machines to be traded.)
Jennings Tic Tac Toe (1956) - 5 cent
This Jennings Tic Tac Toe (1956) slot machine plays 5-cent coins. One coin is played for a potential jackpot of 100 nickels ($5.00). This mechanical machine also lights up (GE 44 or 47 bayonet bulbs) are scattered throughout its frame. When lit, the machine gives a gentle glow. The owner is interested in trading this working machine for an also-working Mills Golden Nugget (25 cents).
The solid oak stand (hand-made) is also included in the trade!

Pachinko vs. Pachislo
To the left is a Pachinko machine. It is gravity driven. It utilizes steel ball bearings to make a lot of noise and possibly ring a jackpot bell. It is not a slot machine. It is legal to own and operate in the State of California. We will gladly repair Pachinko machines.
To the right is a Pachislo machine. It is a "skill-stop" slot machine. It accepts coins or tokens. It is NOT legal to possess in the State of California because it is less than 25 years old. We refuse to service Pachislo machines.
